First of all I am delighted to see that you have stumbled upon my website, so a hello and welcome to you!
My name is Sofia Vale Cruz and I am a 3D Cinematic Artist at Blizzard Entertainment. I am specifically a 3D modeler which means that I build things in a computer generated three-dimensional world space. The latest projects that I have worked on are “World of Warcraft – Wrath of The Lich King”, which is an “MMORPG” (massive multi-player online role playing game) and “Star Craft II – Wings of Liberty”, which is an RTS (real-time strategy) game. Just before getting hired at Blizzard, I worked on James Cameron’s “AVATAR” movie, in the post-production creature art department at Lightstorm Entertainment, as a 3D artist intern.
How I got here is a long story, so I’ll make it short. I was born in Denmark where I also went through the lovely, pampering years of kindergarten and Elementary School. At that time I was really into beating computer games with my brother. So, time went by and after High School I started to work as a model. This job brought me to many different and interesting parts of the world.
After having lived in my suitcase for many years I finally decided to pursue a childhood dream. Ever since playing Space Quest and Megalomania, and watching Dark Crystal and Legend as a kid, I wanted to become part of creating the wonderful worlds of games and movies. So, I went back to school, got a degree and soon after got my dream job at Blizzard Entertainment.
